CELEBRATING 35 YEARS! Sandy Miller OneYouth Metrotown Institute

This summer marked the inspiring 35th annual Sandy Miller OneYouth Metrotown Institute, a transformative experience for all of the delegates who came together to grow as compassionate, emotionally intelligent bridge builders.

At the heart of the Institute is a powerful mission: to empower the next generation with emotional intelligence skills that will help them understand themselves and others deeply, navigate complex social dynamics, and foster genuine connections across differences. Through dynamic workshops, meaningful dialogue, and collaborative activities, delegates expanded their capacity for empathy, self-awareness, and conflict resolution—essential tools for shaping a stronger, more united community.

The experience challenged young participants to step beyond their comfort zones and embrace the transformative power of Respect, Understanding, and Connection—the same values that guide OneJax’s legacy. As they built bridges of trust and cooperation, these youth emerged not only as leaders of their peer groups but as change agents ready to positively impact the future of our city.

The Sandy Miller OneYouth Metrotown Institute is more than a summer program—it is a pivotal journey that cultivates emotionally intelligent, socially conscious youth equipped to lead with heart and unite diverse communities through shared respect and understanding.
