Israel & Gaza Peace Agreement Statement

At OneJax, we join people across our community and around the world in recognizing the relief and hope that come with news of a peace agreement between Gaza and Israel and the return of all living hostages. For so many who have endured unimaginable loss, fear, and separation, this moment offers a glimmer of healing and the possibility of renewed coexistence.

While the path forward remains complex and fragile, we are reminded that true peace extends beyond treaties—it takes compassion, understanding, and the hard work of listening across differences. These values are at the heart of OneJax’s mission to build a more unified and respectful community where people of all backgrounds can live, learn, and grow together.

As conversations continue globally and locally about what lasting peace requires, we encourage our community to turn toward engagement rather than disengagement, toward curiosity rather than assumption, and toward empathy rather than division. In alignment with emerging peace efforts and the 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza, point 18 specifically calls for interfaith dialogues rooted in the values of tolerance and peaceful co-existence. This aspiration is at the heart of OneJax’s mission to foster respect and understanding among people of all beliefs, faiths, and backgrounds, and it is reflected in our ongoing interfaith and community dialogue programs.

In the spirit of peace, tolerance, and our shared humanity, we invite all who wish to contribute to a more connected and compassionate world to join us for the 108th annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Gratitude Service on November 20, at Palms Presbyterian, hosted by OneJax. This signature event celebrates unity and building bridges across difference.

Though this step toward peace does not erase pain or resolve all differences, it reminds us that the possibility of peace begins with people—one relationship, one conversation, one act of goodwill at a time. May we each choose to be agents of that peace here at home and beyond.
