For more than a decade, OneJax has been hosting Civil Discourse conversations and holding Community Suppers periodically throughout the year to bring people together. Attendees come from different parts of town, different cultures and beliefs, and different political perspectives. These programs discuss different topics that impact the people of our city. This year we’ll be combining Civil Discourse and Community Suppers, bringing different people together to break bread and barriers. We therefore introduce to you: “Breaking Bread & Barriers, Civil Discourse Community Suppers.”
Jacksonville is at its best when we’re united. Our new supper series, “Breaking Bread & Barriers,” will begin in October 2024 and run through May 2025 for a series of discussions around the theme, One Nation. OneJax. Using language from the Pledge of Allegiance as our guide, the four sessions will encourage participants to share respectful conversations around topics pertaining to the Pledge of Allegiance. The cost per attendee is $40 and helps OneJax cover food, venue, security and speakers for this event.
If you or your organization would be interested in being a part of bringing our community together with civility, respect, and understanding, we also have sponsorship opportunities for this program series. Your sponsorship of these civil discourse community suppers will put you and your organization at the heart of uniting our city to look past our differences of opinions and perspectives to highlight all we have in common and foster greater respect and understanding for everyone. To learn more about sponsorship opportunities, please visit our website at www.onejax.org or reach out directly to us at onejax@onejax.org or 904-799-5370. We would love to discuss how your involvement can elevate this vital initiative.
