For more than a decade, OneJax has been hosting Civil Discourse conversations and holding Community Suppers periodically throughout the year to bring people together. Attendees come from different parts of town, different cultures and beliefs, and different political perspectives. These programs discuss different topics that impact the people of our city. To deepen the experience, we are combining Civil Discourse and Community Suppers, bringing different people together to break bread and barriers – introducing: “Breaking Bread & Barriers, Civil Discourse Community Suppers.”
Jacksonville is at its best when we’re united. This supper series, “Breaking Bread & Barriers,” began in October of 2024 for discussions around the theme, One Nation. OneJax. Using language from the Pledge of Allegiance as our guide, the four sessions will encourage participants to share respectful conversations around topics pertaining to the Pledge of Allegiance and will wrap up in June of 2025.
