Community Engagement

The OneJax team promotes inclusion within the community in a variety of ways. Our goal is to engage our audience and participants with each other while empowering each individual to take responsibility for their own role in the broader dialogue of acceptance and inclusivity.

“I Am Jacksonville” Initiative

A local integrated media campaign that reinforces how diverse Jacksonville really is and that no matter who you are, where you come from or how long you’ve been here, everyone is Jacksonville. See the TV commercials that ran this past spring.

Neighborhood Gatherings (coming 1st quarter 2024)

This is the primary component of the OneJax Community Engagement Initiative.
These will be local, fun neighborhood events and activities, with no other agenda than to encourage neighbors to get reacquainted and meet new friends. Getting people talking to each other is the objective. The more they get to know one another, the more they’re likely to find things they have in common. And that, ultimately, benefits the entire community.

Community Suppers

Small group suppers hosted by community leaders or topic experts throughout Jacksonville in order to bring diverse people together to break bread and hear different perspectives on pre-identified, timely topics.

Civil Discourse

Moderated panel discussions on issues which challenge deeply-held beliefs about controversial topics in a civil and respectful way. Community members with differing perspectives are encouraged to attend.

Community Conversations

These periodic forums discuss strategies to ensure that everyone in our diverse community is heard and acknowledged, with topical issues to lead conversation among guests.
